We have close ties to sapphire mining in Sri Lanka, which has lead to our involvement with many community projects, support work on the East Coast and sponsoring a school/orphanage in that area. This work has intensified since the tsunami where we have been involved with rebuilding projects.
At home we have sponsored international sailing events, including Pip Hare; Britain’s sole competitor in the Mini Transat. This is a single handed transatlantic crossing, known to be one of the toughest sailing races in the world.
To date we have donated £3000 to support and promote the work of Sightsavers, donating 5% of all Solaris sales to this incredible charity.
